Scarf Knitting Cable Simple Pattern


Perhaps this knitting cable pattern is commonly used. But I will share an example simple knitting cable pattern and very pretty used to make this scarf.
In this project, I used a downwards plait knitting cable. 
You can make a scarf project by combining this cable pattern with any techniques desire.

 Abbreviations used:
- K = knit
- P = purl
- C6F = Cable 6 Front
- C6B = Cable 6 Back  

For the main pattern of downwards plait knitting cable is : 
(9 stitch plait)
1st row  : K (right side)
2nd row : P (and every alt row)
3rd row : C6F, K3 
5th row : K
7th row : K3, C6B
8th row : P
Repeat these 8 rows. 
 

My Blue scarf cable Pattern:

Materials : Bulky yarn
Needles size : 5.0mm 

Cast on 36 sts
1st row  : K3, P3, K3, P3, K9, P3, K3, P3, K9, P3, K3, P3, K3
2nd row : (and every alt row) = P3, K3, P3, K3, P9, K3, P3,K3, P9, K3, P3, K3, P3
3rd row : K3, P3, K3, P3, C6F, P3, K3, P3, C6F, P3, K3, P3, K3

5th row : same as 1st row ----
7th row : K3, P3, K3, P3, C6B, P3, K3, P3, C6B, P3, K3, P3, K3
8th row : same as 2nd row
Repeat these 8 rows.
   
Do this pattern reaches the lenght you need.
